Session | Surveillance Audits |
---|---|
Description |
Audits are a surveillance departments single most powerful weapon for the detection of internal and external theft, and fraud including those schemes requiring collusion with outside agents. Yes, this weapon is seldom used effectively, if even used at all. A good audit program will identify critical areas and transactions that should be checked by the surveillance team on a scheduled basis. Such areas and transaction are reviewed due to their vulnerability to theft and fraud and must be audited to for indications of illicit activity. In this session we discuss the proper methods to identify what should be audited, how an audit should be performed, and for how long.
We will also highlight best practices for audits and how to increase your success rates. Key point to be discussed: An audit should always find something.
